Dear Teachers and Students,

I want to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude to you for taking the time to learn about the Holocaust through my family’s story. Thank you for your interest in my documentary, Letters From Brno and for helping me field test the new curriculum. By engaging with this film and its accompanying curriculum, you are participating in the important task of preserving and honoring history. The Holocaust is one of the darkest chapters in human history, and it is crucial that we continue to remember and learn from it. I hope that Letters From Brno provides insight into this tragedy and answers some of the questions you may have. This documentary is a true story of events that really happened to my mother, my aunt and my grandparents. It is a deeply personal story of my relatives who lived through these unimaginable times, and through their letters and photographs, we are reminded of the profound impact of their experiences. I encourage you to watch the film with an open mind and heart, and I hope that the film sparks meaningful discussions and reflections in your classrooms. Thank you again for your willingness to explore this history, and I truly hope you find the film moving and informative and memorable.

Sincerely,
Karen Kruger
Writer and Producer of Letters From Brno
